Art + Fun = Collaboration!

Besides each own art projects, we, kazutabu and qottonart, have been collaborating some fun stuff! We did some collaborated fine arts together in a past, such as painting and poems, but recently, we have been challenging ourselves on designing logos and making a children book and etc...
Our recent favorites are personal logo designs for our lovely niece and nephew. Those pieces were gifts from us since they just entered kindergarden and elementary school this spring. We wanted to give them something very original and things that they can use for a long time.
We first designed the personal patch for our niece, Chinatsu. I did the designing and coloring, and Kazutabu made it degital on PC. When we started doing this process, the idea popped into my head right a way and the project went so smooth and quick.
Since this piece turned into a embroided patch, it has a slightly different taste of it...actually more stylish the way. That looks sooo cute and Chinatsu loves it. That makes us happy! Of course our two-year-old niece does not surf... not yet :), but whatever she will be doing in future, we hope she will always be happy and shiny like the reflection of sun against the sea...
For this second piece, we created the original stickers for our nephew, Shuna. I first did the rough draft design to provide the idea and Kazutabu did the rest... We wanted this piece to be kind of classic and antique-like American style... I think we did it pretty well... What do you think?
Shuna likes it so much and keep sticking them all over the places :( ...hehe that's ok as long as he like it :D
We also gave him a wooden box that has watercolor paint kit since he likes drawing and painting.

I enjoy this creating-together-thing. Usually, kinds of art media we do are pretty different, but by collaborating, we are able to integrate our divergent skills and tastes into one piece and make it very extraordinary and sophosticated! It is like cooking some Italian pasta with a fusion of Indian curry flavor. Hmm, Sounds yummy... Of course, two artists work together... means tough sometimes, but I feel it is so miracle that we can actually create something together... well, at least for me... but that might give a little bit to the world and make people happy or things like that. Also, Collaboration is a great way to communicate and understand each others, and it makes us grow as artists.
